However, they cannot even enjoy the convenience of having Final Fantasy X-2 in digital form – which is essentially chained to the cartridge anyway. If such players lose access to their Switch accounts, they will lose access to the digital content of Final Fantasy X-2. This certainly feels like the worst of both worlds. Apparently, even though the code downloads a digital copy of Final Fantasy X-2 onto one’s console, owners still need to insert the Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster cartridge to access that content!Įven though Final Fantasy X-2 is a download, while X is on the card, you can’t play it unless you have the card in. Now that retail copies of the game are in players’ hands, they’re discovering another enraging caveat about this download code. Namely, one half of the package is not actually on the game cartridge, but must be downloaded through a one-use code.
